You Are Enough – Embrace The Power Within You
Every one of us carries within ourselves, an infinite potential for greatness – it’s all a matter of how we see ourselves and whether we believe in our inherent value. Even though we often hear that we are unique and that we should embrace our true selves, we still struggle with self-doubt, insecurities, and feelings of inadequacy. What does it mean to truly believe in ourselves and how we can start to tap into our full potential? When you live life believing that you are enough, you hold the key to accessing everything you need to be happy and fulfilled within you.
The foundation for feeling good enough requires you to acknowledge one important truth – that you are not your circumstances. It’s far too easy to let what’s happening in our current reality, define us and to let our struggle, failures, and setbacks become the sum of our identity. Your circumstances do not determine your worth or who you are. You are a powerful individual, capable of weathering any storm. To embrace the power within yourself, you must separate your circumstances from your self-worth.
Your thoughts shape your perception of reality. When you think negatively and doubt yourself, you attract negative energy and experiences into your life, which will then validate your negative thoughts. The thoughts that you think regularly, build strong neural circuits that cause negative thinking to become automatic. When you embrace the power within you, and focus on positive thinking, you’ll attract positive experiences and people in your life. Practicing affirmations and visualising daily events working out for you, help to build empowering neural circuits that start to shift your mindset from negative to positive.
You possess skills, talents, and qualities that no one else has. These qualities are what make you special and unique and give you a value that no one else can provide. There is nobody else on the planet like you. Don’t compare yourself to others, Instead, focus on comparing how you feel on a day-to-day basis. This gives you ownership of how you view your unique qualities.
We are all affected to a greater or lesser degree by the moods and emotions felt by others. How you feel about yourself is often mirrored in the people you socialise and work with. Although it helps to surround yourself with positive, supportive people who help to uplift and encourage you. It’s essential to believe that when you change how you feel on a consistent basis, you’ll discover a support system of friends that you can rely on when times get tough with people who encourage you to be your best self. Don’t be afraid to cut ties with toxic, negative people who drain your energy and instil self-doubt. You blossom and flourish with people who believe in you and support your journey to greatness.
Embracing the power within yourself means realising that you have a purpose, a reason for being here. Your life has meaning, and your experiences, even the most challenging ones, are all a part of your growth and development. Everything you have overcome has given you the opportunity to experience a better version of who you are today. Embrace your journey and trust that you’re on the right path. When you start to realise that you are enough, and you have everything you need within you, then your ability to fulfil your purpose in life becomes emboldened.
Here are my three favourite ways that have helped me to believe in myself and my ability to create more of what I want in life:
Separate your thoughts from who you are. The more you notice the thoughts as you think them, the easier it becomes to challenge self-sabotaging statements. Observe them and with compassion, ask yourself; “Is this true?” Look for times that disprove the validity of any thought that doesn’t really serve you. I wanted to share a personal example to demonstrate how I re-frame some of my less than positive thoughts:
Self-sabotaging thought:
“I’m such a failure, life has exhausted me. I’m not good enough.”
Challenge and re-plant new thought:
“It’s natural to feel tired because I’ve been through a lot recently. And that’s ok because my experience has grown, and I’ve learned so many things. Right now, I have everything I need to achieve what I really want. I’ve got this!”
Make feeling good your priority. How you feel becomes your point of attraction. It only takes 14 – 17 seconds for a thought with a similar emotion to attach to your original thought. If you allow a negative emotion to take hold then you’re building a strong momentum of negative feelings. If left unchecked, this will continue to build throughout your day. From a negative feeling you attract situations and people that align with your negative feelings. By starting your day, feeling good, you’ve set the tone for your entire day.
Operate from a place of compassion. The quickest and biggest change to feeling good enough happens when you look at yourself and others through the eyes of compassion rather than judgement. Everything within you begins to soften and expand. You instantly feel better and stimulate a beautiful vibration of natural healing. This transforms everything in a single moment.
Start believing in yourself and embrace the power that flows rampantly within. You are a unique and valuable individual with skills, talents, and qualities that no one else can provide. You are enough, you have always been enough. If you are connecting to this train of thinking, then you are not accessing who you truly are. You are magnificent. A vast ocean of pure potential that waits patiently for you to dive in.
The world is waiting for you to shine your light.
